The goal of this observational study is to help us understand more about the best ways to help individuals living with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) get the best care. The main question it aims to answer is: How to find individuals unaffiliated from SCD specialist care use three distinct pathways? Once unaffiliated individuals are found using the pathways, Investigators will employ linkage coordinators (trained staff) to engage these patients in care. Participants will be asked to fill out an assessment survey which will cover areas such as previous and current treatment, clinic and hospital experience, pain, and quality of life. Participants will also be given the option of participation in a 1-hour long interview how they feel about treatment for sickle cell disease including clinic experience, pain, and quality of life? The goal of this clinical trial is to compare an active intervention versus a standard of care control in reducing alcohol use among pregnant women. The main questions it aims to answer are whether a motivational intervention can: 1. increase the proportion of women detected with a laboratory-confirmed negative phosphatidylethanol (PEth) test during pregnancy, and 2. reduce the proportion of adverse birth outcomes among infants. Participants will be offered (1) a self-paced computer-delivered alcohol reduction intervention to enhance knowledge, norms, and motivation for alcohol reduction and (2) a nurse-delivered component to reinforce the computer-delivered content and address women's questions. Both components are theory-driven, based on Motivational Enhancement Theory (MET), and use motivational strategies to promote alcohol reduction. Type: Interventional Start Date: Apr 2024 |

Migraine is a disease that most often causes moderate to severe headache on one side of the head. A migraine attack is a headache that may be accompanied by throbbing, nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light and sound, or other symptoms. The goals of the study are to evaluate adverse events and how well treatment of atogepant works compared to placebo (looks like the study treatment but contains no medicine) in preventing chronic migraine in participants between 12 and 17 years of age. Atogepant is a medicine currently approved in the United States and Europe for the preventive treatment of migraine in adult patients with migraine and is being studied for the preventative treatment of chronic migraine in participants between the ages of 12 and 17 years. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of the 2 groups to be treated with either atogepant or placebo. This study is double-blinded, which means that neither the patients nor the study doctors know who is given which study treatment. Approximately 420 participants 12 to 17 years of age with chronic migraine will be enrolled at approximately 70 sites across the world. Participants will receive oral tablets of atogepant or placebo once daily for 12 weeks and will be followed for 4 weeks. Participants will attend regular visits during the study at a hospital or clinic and the effects of treatment will be checked by completion of a daily diary, medical assessments, blood tests, checking for side effects, and completing questionnaires. This phase III trial compares the effectiveness of fractionated stereotactic radiosurgery (FSRS) to usual care stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) in treating patients with cancer that has spread from where it first started to the brain. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. FSRS delivers a high dose of radiation to the tumor over 3 treatments. SRS is a type of external radiation therapy that uses special equipment to position the patient and precisely give a single large dose of radiation to a tumor. FSRS may be more effective compared to SRS in treating patients with cancer that has spread to the brain. Type: Interventional Start Date: Dec 2024 |
